Every year, advances are made in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and types of illnesses. Such advances cannot be made without the contributions made by the subjects or participants in research studies that focus on these efforts. This participation is often related to clinical trials (a study that involves the scientific evaluation of an experimental drug, device, or procedure/therapy). It is only through these research and clinical trials that major advances in healthcare are possible.
Research studies in the CCIR utilize a variety of participants. Some studies require patients with specific diseases, while others require participants in good health, or even participants who have a family history of a particular disease. It is important for participants to be cruited from various demographics – both men and women of varying ages and from every ethnic group.
If are participating in a research study taking place in the CCIR and have any questions, please contact the research staff of the study you are involved with. If you are not participating in a research study, but are interested in doing so, please contact Shelly Meese.
