This scanner is a 1.5T short bore, whole body MRI scanner. This system has a table travel of 205cm, allowing for the scanning of a patient from head to foot without the need to get the patient up and change coils. The Avanto can have up to 76 coil elements connected with up to 32 RF channels. This system utilizes TIM technology, which is Total Image Matrix, which allows for use of multiple array coils at the same time, paralleled with the IPAT technology, allows for scans with higher temporal or spatial resolutions. Higher temporal resolutions allow the visualization of the beating heart in a near real time acquisition.
